In conformity with the goals of the Official Development Assistance (ODA) principles and with foreign - political interest of the Czech Republic the government ratified the intention to focus the ODA to the following priority countries:
Republic of Angola, Republic of Zambia, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Mongolia, Republic of Yemen, Republic of Moldova, Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, State Union Serbia and Montenegro and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Republic of Iraq.
The Principle of Development Cooperation
The Czech Republic (CR), as a member state of European Union (EU), admits the principle of solidarity among people and among the states and assumes own share of responsibility in solving global problems. One of the expressions of this attitude is Official Development Assistance (ODA) which is part of the Czech foreign policy. ODA comes from principles of partnership (ODA is lead by demand of support from the benefit country, not by offer of provider), effectiveness and transparency.
The ODA principles after entering of the Czech Republic into the EU define the official development assistance in a large sense as a comprehensive governmental policy towards fellow developing and transforming countries, in a narrow sense ODA represents a support of the Czech state expressed by transfer of finances, materials, expert or technical support towards sustainable development of fellow countries.
Between the major goals of the Czech ODA belongs a reduction of poverty, economic-industrial development, progressive integration of fellow countries into the world economics, development of agriculture, building up and confirmation of democracy, human rights and upright mending of public affairs, implementation of legal principles, leading of migration, sustainable development with a focus on its environmental component and post-conflict restoration.
Project ODA “Regional Waste Management Concepts in Central Vietnam”
In accordance with governmental regulation of the Czech Republic about Official Development Assistance and with requirements of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam the Czech Ministry of Environment invited tenders for a project “Regional Waste Management Concepts in Central Vietnam”. The corporation ETC Consulting Group LLC prevailed in the public selection procedure for realization of this project.
Project will be realized within VII/2006 – XII/2008
The purpose of the project is fulfillment of such activities that will contribute to elimination of consequences of growing waste production on health of citizens and the state of environment. The activities will be focused on support of creation efficient and economically reasonable waste management on the basis of regional planning in waste management.

This web site provides mainly information on project activities. Besides the content about waste management and the project the aim is to present Vietnam in pictures and to indicate possible future development to Vietnamese experts interested in modern technologies in waste management.
